It is designed to give a fundamental understanding of how to use, configure and troubleshoot the GTM/DNS and its features. The introductory course gives an overall understanding of the architecture, licensing, configuration, and monitoring of the F5 BIG-IP GTM and DNS. It will also cover topics such as basic name resolution and traffic management, with an emphasis on DNS resolution. Additionally, the course covers topics such as high availability and failover, DNS routing, application acceleration, and domain and adapter preferences.

Objectives

Learners will be able to create and deploy global server load balancing (GSLB) and DNS configurations using the BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager (GTM) solution.
Learners will understand the features, functionality, and UI of BIG-IP GTM and configure DNS name resolution for a variety of clients.
Learners will learn how to configure advanced protocol-independent load balancers and implement DNS redundancy and Geographic Load Balancing (GLB).
Learners will be able to troubleshoot DNS records and DNS forwarding, customize data center affinity, and set up data center failovers.
Learners will have hands-on experience with deploying the BIG-IP GTM solution. They will create custom iRules and utilize monitoring probes to optimize performance.
Learners will apply best practices related to deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of BIG-IP GTM.
